Situated in the mountains above Marbella, on the Ronda road, lies El Madroñal Residence, a bespoke, gated micro-community of three villas opposite the south entrance of the prestigious La Zagaleta urbanisation. Built on the former site of the El Madroñal tennis club by local award-winning developers Propana Group, the houses boast views down the mountain all the way to Puerto Banús and the Mediterranean Sea. The villas are built in an iconic form, embracing the use of long stretches of glass and clean geometric lines. These bold, statement properties are balanced by their stunning, original landscaped gardens and the soft elegant interiors, which mix warm colours and tones with creative uses of lighting and textures.
FOC Design were lead interior designers for two villas in this project. Comprising five bedrooms and with an extra separate, self-contained, one bedroom apartment complete with kitchen and lounge area, both villas were designed with space and light in mind. Pushing the boundaries of modern design, the houses are a prime example of 21st century architecture without being brutal or cold. Elegant, ergonomic and sophisticated, every aspect of these properties is breathtakingly beautiful and the prime location with views of the coastline, sea and North Africa to the South and La Concha mountain to the East adds to their enchantment.
Working closely from concept to reality, FOC Design consulted on design decisions as well as project managing from the beginning. Having worked with developers in this way before, FOC Design was able to advise on technical decisions, as well as the aesthetic aspects of the build from layouts, distribution and lighting plans to bathroom tiles, wallpapers and soft furnishings. Winning both Best Development Marketing and Best Property Single Unit categories for the whole of Spain in the 2015 International Property Awards for the El Madroñal Residence project, Propana Group is no stranger to creating high-end dwellings. With FOC Design's recent award for 2018-2019 5 Best Interior Design Private Residence, Propana Group and FOC Design certainly have a bright future.
